Google acquires Flutter – Chromebooks soon to get Kinect-like gestures?

flutter-google

Google’s shopping spree doesn’t seem to be over yet. The Search Giant has just acquired Flutter, a company we are more than happy to see joining the team! Why exactly? Flutter is known for being the “Kinect for OS X”. It enables webcam gestures for controlling your computer!

What could Google possibly be doing with its new acquisition? Google didn’t mention what the plan was, but the first thing that comes to mind is Kinect-like gestures for Chromebooks. This would take Chrome OS (and computing) to a whole new level, allowing you to control certain features and actions by using body motions.

I can imagine the webcam being activated by a certain phrase (much like the Moto X and Google Glass) and then matching certain body movements with computer actions/tasks. This is just an assumption, though. We have to wait and see what Google will do with this.

What do you think? Will we get this kind of gestures soon?
