Google Fiber to support 10 gigabit internet speeds in the future?

Google Fiber currently has the best deal in internet speeds in the USA. They offer the fastest speeds at 1 Gbps for only $70 (albeit, in very few markets for now). That speed is insane, considering most people have 10-30 Mbps speeds. Google is working on making Google Fiber even better, though!

Recent reports state that Google is working on bringing 10 Gbps internet speeds! That is simply insane, guys. That would be over a thousand times faster than 10 Mbps internet speeds!

This news comes from Google Chief Financial Officer Patrick Pichette, who brought us the good news during the Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet conference. He is also feeling very confident about Google’s ability to bring this technology rather soon.

We feel like 10 Gbps internet speeds are nearly impossible, but Pichette believes Google could possibly bring it to us as soon as 3 years from now.

“That’s where the world is going. It’s going to happen. Why wouldn’t we make it available in three years? That’s what we’re working on. There’s no need to wait.”

Simply insane, but Google is always thinking big and so far they have been able to make some huge accomplishments. A few years ago we would have thought a self-driving car is impossible to make, but Google has a working prototype now. Not only that, but these cars are coming to California soon.

Let’s hope these plans become reality. Also, I am wondering when the next city is getting Google Fiber. Bring it on, Google!
