Google working on aligning Chrome versions across all platforms

Chrome versions highly differ between computers and mobile devices. This limits functionality and performance as smartphones and tablets can only take advantage of so much with Chrome, but this should be changing soon. After being asked about the matter, the Google Chrome team has stated Chrome versions will be aligned across all platforms by early 2013.

We expect an update to Chrome for Android starting with a developer update to happen before the end of the year, and we’re actively working towards aligning releases across all platforms, including Android, starting early next year.

We would not expect Chrome for Android to suddenly become a full-fledged PC browser, but this should bring in some great improvements. Some improvements could be support for Plug ins, extensions, more API functionality and who knows… maybe Flash could even make an epic comeback (it is integrated into desktop Chrome).

We will simply have to wait and see what the Google Chrome team has in store for us. Until then, Chrome for mobile is still a great app. But just out of curiosity, what features would you like to see coming to Chrome for mobile?
