Waze has been a hot news topic for Google fans since rumors of a possible acquisition arose. Google and Facebook have been said to be the biggest bidders for the popular navigation service Waze. New reports now state that Google seems to be winning the battle and will buy Waze for a whopping $1.3 billion dollars.

The rumor comes from Globes’ sources, which state that Facebook did not reach a deal to the price. Also, it seems Waze wanted to have the company continue running from its home base, Israel. Facebook seems to have not liked the idea very much, while Google already has an office in said country and is said to be be more open to the idea.

This continues to be a rumor, but it seems Google could be getting itself a brand new company soon. Now we just have to find out how Google will be using Waze. Odds are it will improve the already awesome service Google Maps. We can’t wait to see what happens!
