Remember the gold and silver Mario amiibos that leaked earlier this month? Speculation was that they would be the final physical reward for Club Nintendo, but it looks like that isn’t the case as the above poster was found inside a Walmart, advertising the Gold Mario amiibo as an exclusive. No information from Walmart or Nintendo has been given about the release date of the amiibo, but considering it’s the same shape as the Super Mario collection amiibo, we expect it’ll launch alongside Mario Party 10.
The only question left now is who is the silver amiibo exclusive to? Target, Best Buy, GameStop, and Toys R Us have all already had exclusives that were handled pretty poorly. Walmart is the only major retail chain left, so it’ll be interesting to see if Nintendo decides to give an online retailer like Amazon an exclusivity deal.
