GameStop recently had a financial call with investors where CFO Robert Lloyd commented on the Nintendo Switch and how the console was doing in its stores.
And it’s doing quite well. Lloyd said that there was a “steady level of demand” for the console and its games.
“We are seeing a very steady level of demand for Switch right now and a very steady level of demand for the Switch games. It’s surprising when I read the reports on a weekly basis how the even Zelda which launched a year ago continues to do on a week-to-week basis.”
Over the past year GameStop’s earnings have been boosted by the Nintendo Switch. Last year GameStop CEO Paul Raines said that the Switch was the most successful Nintendo launch ever, even beating the Wii.
