Wondering what Google was going to do with QuickOffice after purchasing it last June? Well, Google has taken the first step – the office application is now available for free! All you need to do is go to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and download it.

It is that simple, no tricks. In fact, the QuickOffice app is not the only free thing Google is giving us today. Google is also offering 10 GB for free to all QuickOffice users! All you need to do is sign in and sync to your Google Drive account from the application. The free 10 GB are only obtainable until September 26, and you will be able to keep them for 2 years. You have a week to sign up, so why not?

We first were under the impression that Google’s goal was to integrate QuickOffice directly to Google Drive. Drive doesn’t offer the full Office editing capabilities Quick Office features, so this would be a great way to expand. This may or may not be the plan, but for now we are happy to get some freebies!
