FIFA 14 details revealed, no Wii U version at launch

Yesterday we reported that EA was ready to unveil the next details of FIFA 14. Many of you speculated that EA would not support the Wii U with the release and those of you that did, you’re sort of right. EA announced the new game for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 for later this year, but made no mention of the Wii U version. All that was stated was that “additional platforms will be announced over the coming months.” That leaves an open-ended question as to whether or not the game will be announced for Wii U at all.

New features to the franchise include:

  • Pure Shot – allows players to adjust stride and angle to find the best position for a shot, while also allowing players to perform rush shots
  • Real ball physics – determines the most accurate course for a ball to take, allowing for curved shots and other unpredictable shots
  • Protect the ball – enables players to fend off defenders while dribbling at any speed
  • Newly rehashed career mode

It’s interesting to see EA’s announcement snub the already available Wii U, but keep in mind that no next-gen consoles were announced for the game, so it’s possible that EA is holding off to announce for the Wii U until it does so for Sony and Microsoft’s next consoles. What do you think?
