EA backtracks, says they are working on Wii U games

I guess this is that “unprecedented partnership” coming into play. After numerous announcements that they will not be developing for the Wii U and even an EA engineer calling the Wii U crap, it looks like EA has had a change of heart after all. This comes after today’s Xbox One announcement, where EA Sports featured prominently among the reveal for the next Xbox. This statement directly contradicts the one released by Jeff Brown only a few days ago, where he stated there were no games in development.

According to CFO Blake Jorgensen, he believes the Wii U is an extension of the Wii:

You know, I think Nintendo’s business was more [an] extension of their last console.

Regardless, Jorgensen says big things are planned for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 and at this point, the statement that they’re still considering the Wii U for platform development sounds like damage control more than anything else. What do you think?

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!
