DuckTales Remastered for Wii U developer interview

As many of you may already know, the classic NES game, “DuckTales,” is being remastered for the Wii U, Xbox 360, and PS3. Below is a recent video interview with the game’s director and designer, Austin Ivansmith. The developers’ approach to making the game, as well as new additions players can expect from the game, are some of the things discussed:

“We’re really trying to recapture the spirit of the original game…If you’ve played the original game there will be a lot you remember…We took the original level designs and we found the places where maybe they could use a little more character and we expanded them and added a little more to them.”

“We’re approaching the animation with a very traditional Disney mindset because we want it to stand out and be just a powerful Disney license.”

“We value gameplay and art very highly… the presentation on the game is one of the most important things…the visuals just have to be the best we can make them.”

Personally, I’m really excited for this piece of nostalgia. I had the game when I was a kid and played the heck out of it. I’m relieved they aren’t messing with the original formula too much…as long as I can still use Scrooge’s cane as both a weapon and pogo stick, I’m happy! This will definitely be a day one purchase for me when it releases this summer…DuckTales WOO HOO! How about you? Let us know in the comments below.
