The Super Smash Bros. fandom is nothing if not dedicated. The game has only been available for about 2 months now and fans from SmashBoards are already dissecting the internals of the game by data-mining the code to see what they can find hidden away. By looking at file names and comparing them to similar files already in place in Super Smash Bros., it appears as though Dr. Mario was set to receive a stage in Super Smash Bros. on Wii U.
Each of the three viruses would appear on the stage, with different affects based on their own abilities. Chill can freeze players, Fever can give players fire breath. This is speculation based on file names as the actual model for the viruses and the stage itself have been removed from the game files.
According to more file-name snooping, The Chorus Men were originally planned for the game, but were removed. Either way, it’s not likely we’ll see these removed stages and characters in the game at a later date, as Sakurai has stated that he doesn’t plan on including any DLC for Super Smash Bros.
