First gameplay video from Renegade Kid’s Cult County

Last week we wrote about Renegade Kid’s most recent Kickstarter Cult County, a game that was originally targeting release on the Nintendo 3DS. The developer has since decided to focus on the Wii U and other consoles instead of the Nintendo 3DS and we’ve finally got our first look at gameplay. The four minute clip shows the player walking through a brutal sandstorm around a church with a cemetery on the outside.

The footage shown is mainly to highlight the capabilities of the engine the team is using, including the intensity of the sandstorm and the shadows the engine is capable of producing. There’s no scares here yet, but considering the team’s experience working on a game like Dementium, I would expect them to be pretty hardcore.

The team currently has 21 days left to go on the Kickstarter and they’ve only reached $32,108 of their $580,000 goal. It’s a lofty goal, but if you want to play a horror adventure game on the Wii U, you might want to consider backing it.
