Crytek: CryEngine 3 running on Wii U

CryEngine 3 Wii U
Crytek, developers of Crysis and a company known to push the limits of videogame visuals, have confirmed that their brand new engine, CryEngine 3, is running on the Wii U. While Crytek isn’t showing anything just yet, they confirmed to Develop that the engine is running on the Wii U and that Crytek fully supports Nintendo’s new console.

The CryEngine 3 was first showcased earlier this year with the release of Crysis 2 on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The Wii U hardware has been estimated to be more powerful than both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, which means the engine shouldn’t, technically speaking, have any problems running on the Wii U. Hopefully Crytek will reveal some new details soon. And a few screenshots and videos as well.

CryEngine 3 is available for licensing to developers and costs an estimated $1.8 million dollars per project.
