Chromium has just reached version 35. This means we will start seeing more improvements and features in due time. Maybe Google is getting ready to showcase some awesome new Chrome news at Google IO? Let’s hope so!
We are not sure what Google could be cooking up, but we will definitely let you know what’s going on as soon as more news start showing up. For now, we just wanted to share the news.
Also, Google always does something fun when they move to a new Chrome version. They take the version number and share random facts about that number. Here are this version’s number facts.
Chromium 35 – number facts
- 35 is a centered cube number, a pentagonal number and a pentatope number.
- 35 is a discrete semiprime (or biprime) (5 × 7).
- There are 35 free hexominoes, the polyominoes made from six squares.
- In science, 35 is the atomic number of bromine.
- The minimum age of candidates for election to the United States Presidency.
What do you want to see in Chrome 35?
Google is constantly working on improving Chrome, which is now available in most of our devices. From computers to smartphones, you can be almost sure that you will have access to Chrome. I think it’s important to blur the lines between different versions if we are going to have a browser/platform that is available everywhere.
All these Chrome browsers work together, but they are not the same. The desktop and mobile versions of Chrome are simply too different. I would like to see extensions (or a version of them) coming to the mobile version of Chrome, for example.
As for Chromium, I believe Google is doing a great job at turning the platform into an independent product. One that does not depend so much on other operating systems. There are now native apps, for example, which work offline and run from Chrome itself. I hope Google continues going this route, which I’m sure they will.
