François Beaufort has become one of our most important sources for upcoming Chrome features. The developer is always finding bits and pieces of new Chrome goodies and displaying them for the world to see. He is always giving us just a small taste of what is to come, though. As if he just wants to tease us and keep us glued to his Google+ account.
Today he is showing us a small feature that will come with Google’s new unified Messaging Center. It is nothing huge, but it looks like it is very well-implemented and could prove to be very useful to many users. It seems there will be an option to activate Quiet Mode, but there will be 3 options to choose from.
As it can be seen in the image, one can activate Quiet Mode for an hour or a full day, aside from being able to simply turn it off. This will be helpful if you know you will be in a meeting or watching a movie for a while. Or if you simply want to disconnect from the world for a day. All messages and notifications will be there when you come back, you just won’t be interrupted by notifications in the middle of whatever you may be doing.
Pretty neat, right? It currently only works with Chrome OS and Windows, but we are sure other devices will get the same feature when the Messaging Center is ready for prime time.
