Chrome OS will lower computer prices

The great thing about competition is that it usually brings down prices. The Google vs Microsoft battle that is being waged is no different and is bound to work out well for consumers looking to buy netbooks.

When Google launches their Chrome OS, which is scheduled for 2nd or 3rd quarter 2010 and simply gives it away, obviously the netbooks that run on Chrome OS will be cheaper, because customers don´t have to pay for &%$·$%windows.

Also, Microsoft must come up with a game plan of their own. My bet is they will introduce a stripped down version of windows, with a lot of upgrade options and endless nagging to pay more. “Microsoft’s strategy is likely to be to compete on price,” said Brent Williams, an analyst with the Benchmark Co “Now there’s a competitor with the muscle and the brand recognition. Google is that company.”
