Chrome OS to launch mid-October on Chinese netbook?

Google’s operating system Chrome isn’t scheduled to be released til 2010, but there are strong rumors on Shanzai.com that some Chinese manufacturers are all set to ship their first Netbooks, running on Chrome OS!

Google hasn’t even released the developers’ version yet, let alone anything that’s been tested, however, this doesn’t seem to matter to these Chinese entrepreneurs: they’re using a pre-release version of the operating system and beating the competition to the punch. Go China, I say.

Google may schedule an October release of the public alpha or beta version of Chrome, if only to rub Microsoft’s nose in it a little, as the new Windows 7 is set to be released in October as well.
