Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker amiibo update coming March 20

Captain Toad - Treasure Tracker14

Nintendo has done a bang up job so far of supporting amiibo in all of their currently available games. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is the latest to receive amiibo support, as Nintendo have announced that the patch enabling players to interact with the game using amiibo will go live on March 20. That’s the same day that Mario Party 10 and the Toad amiibo will be made available to the public, so it’s right on schedule. What does using amiibo in the game get you? Here’s a short list:

  • Tap the Toad amiibo to the Wii U GamePad controller for a special hide-and-seek challenge in each stage.
  • Watch as Pixel Toad runs into the level and search through the level to try to find him.
  • Tap other amiibo figures and receive 1-UP Mushrooms.

Nearly every single amiibo that Nintendo has released so far is compatible with the game, but of course you’ll need the Toad amiibo in order to access those special stages. Will you be picking up the Toad amiibo to use with this game when the patch goes live on March 20?
