Can’t find a GameCube controller adapter? Try this.

If you’re having trouble getting your hands on a GameCube controller adapter for the Wii U, don’t worry as you’re not the only person experiencing problems. We first documented cases of people being unable to find the adapters when Super Smash Bros. launched back in November, but more recently Amazon UK had to begin cancelling orders because of stock that’s not available.

Earlier today GameStop updated their online webstore to offer the GameCube adapter for sale, but just a few short hours later and its back out of stock. If you’re at work or otherwise unable to check the website for these quickies, you could end up waiting quite a while in order to get your hands on the adapter, or two if you plan on playing 8 player Smash.

The folks over at NowInStock.net have set up a handy tracker to let you know when major retailers like GameStop, Amazon, Best Buy, and even Walmart have stock listed on their website. I’ve used the tool frequently and it even helped me stay on top of a PlayStation 4 last year during the launch, so it’s a great alert system. You can choose to have the site alert you either through email or text, or even just your browser.

Hopefully Nintendo will get a handle on the overwhelming demand for these adapters and produce more, but we’re not holding our breath on that happening before the end of the year.
