Rumor: Activision delayed CoD: Ghosts announcement because of Nintendo

Emily Rogers, a noted writer for Nintendo Force magazine, has an interesting story to spin today, surrounding the reasoning it took Activision nearly two months to confirm the Wii U version of Call of Duty: Ghosts. According to her, the publisher needed Nintendo’s approval before announcing the game, but that the situation blew up when many people assumed that the game would not be coming to Wii U.

“Reason for Activision delaying Wii U announcement for Ghosts is because they were waiting on something from Nintendo. From what I understand, Activision waited for Nintendo to give them an ‘approval’ on something. That delayed announcement of Wii U version.”

According to Rogers, the delay in announcing Black Ops 2 last year was not because Activision was waiting on approval for anything, but rather to help create buzz around the console by announcing a popular game for its launch.
