How to fix the multiple Blood Moon bug in Zelda: Breath of the Wild

One of the unique aspects of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the Blood Moon mechanic that is a clever way to hide the respawn of enemy camps all across the world of Hyrule. In reality you’re supposed to get one Blood Moon about every seven days, but sometimes you can get multiple in a row, sometimes only a few seconds apart.

If you find yourself having this problem while you’re playing Breath of the Wild, there’s an easy fix. Right now the bug seems to be caused when the console wakes up from sleep mode after not having been powered off. If you find yourself having an irregular Blood Moon cycle, try powering off your console and then turning it back on. Things should then be back to normal.

How to turn off Nintendo Switch

1. Hold down the power button for five seconds.
2. Select the Power Options menu.
3. Choose turn off.
4. Press the button to turn on the Switch again.

For those of you who are experiencing this annoying bug and it’s keeping you from making progress on things because you keep getting random Blood Moons, try do this to fix it. It’s annoying and it took a lot of research to figure out what’s causing it. Hopefully Nintendo will address this bug in the same patch to fix the underwater glitch.
