Best Buy getting Wii U demo stations on Oct 17

Wii U demo stationThe vast majority of gamers out there still haven’t tried the Wii U — which is understandable, since the console isn’t out yet and only those at special events have been able to get their hands on it. But in just a few days, on October 17, Best Buy retail stores around the US will begin installing Wii U demo stations.

This means that the average gamer will finally get a chance at playing the Wii U, check out the new controller, the new games, and see the console in real life. The news comes from a Best Buy employee who’s familiar with the situation, and also mentioned that Best Buy will be carrying pre-order cards for the console and games.

There’s still no word on what games will be available on the demo station, but we assume that players will have a wide choice of games, as seen on this video walkthrough of a Wii U demo station at the Nintendo Store in New York.

This means that gamers will have a whole month to try out the Wii U before it launches on November 18 in North America. Now it’s only a matter of time before GameStop, Target, and other retailers set up their Wii U demo stations as well.
