Assassin’s Creed Rogue confirmed to be skipping Wii U

Today Ubisoft released a brand new teaser trailer for their upcoming game, Assassin’s Creed Rogue. The game follows the story of Shay, a former Assassin now turned Templar who must hunt down his former brothers. The trailer is a story trailer and doesn’t show any gameplay, but the game is being released for PS3 and Xbox 360 exclusively. This was rumored several months ago with the Assassin’s Creed comet rumor, but today’s trailer confirms that Ubisoft is not producing an Assassin’s Creed game for Wii U this year.

Assassin’s Creed Unity is the upcoming game set during the French Revolution that also features co-op and will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Assassin’s Creed fans on Wii U are out of luck this year, it seems. Ubisoft’s catalogue of Wii U games has dried up over the 2014 year, with the last title released on the system being Child of Light, which uses the UbiArt engine originally designed for the Rayman series.

As a consolation prize, Rayman is featuring in Super Smash Bros. this year as a trophy.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue will be released on November 11.
