Arms has had a very successful launch in Japan, selling over 100,000 units during its first week (and that included only 2 days for the game, as it was released towards the end of the week).
And Arms is even more successful when you compare it to other new fighting game IPs.
Arms had a better launch than any new fighting game IP released over the past 7 years in Japan. Of course, there aren’t that many new fighting game IPs released in general, but it’s still impressive nonetheless.
The game also had a better launch than some fighting game heavy hitters — it sold way better than Tekken 7 and Street Fighter 5 during their first week on the market.
