Apparently the Switch has a built-in NES emulator

According to the homebrew community, who are now working with the Switch and analyzing its OS and code, the console shipped with a built-in NES emulator called “Flog”.

The emulator is listed on the breakdown of all the “under the hood” Switch features and system applications.

Nintendo has previously commented on bringing NES games to the Switch via Virtual Console, but so far there has been no official announcement.

But it now looks like they’ve been planning on this from the get go, seeing as how the console shipped with an NES emulator.

A Virtual Console is one of the main features missing from the Switch and is much-requested by fans. However, with Nintendo choosing to release its old games on hardware (NES and SNES Mini consoles), it seems that they’ve put less focus on Virtual Console this time around.
