If you’re having trouble getting your hands on a GameCube adapter for the Wii U, you’re not the only one. Apparently Nintendo wildly underestimated the number of people who really want to play Smash with a GameCube controller, as they’ve informed Amazon UK that they have no more stock to send, so Amazon is cancelling those orders. Here’s a tweet from one person who was affected by the cancellation:
@AmazonUK just cancelled my Wii U Gamecube Adapter. The supplier @NintendoUK informed that it is no longer available. pic.twitter.com/DmYRZTOj8R

There’s no information from Nintendo on whether they plan on replenishing the stock for these, or if they’re a limited time only item. Either way, the fact that the adapter is so hard to get means people really, really like those GameCube controllers.
Have you been able to find one of these adapters for your Smash experience?
