AllCast update: support for streaming Google+ photos and videos added

allcast

AllCast continues to be one of our favorite apps dedicated to Chromecast. It is full-featured and supports a plethora of files, services and devices. Chroemcast support continues to be in beta, though, and developer Koushik Dutta has been working extra hard to improve the app for us.

AllCast received a major update last Friday, with DLNA support, a new icon, improved UI and more. We weren’t expecting another update for a while, but Koush surprised us with a smaller update last Sunday. This one brings deeper Google+ support to the app, giving it the ability to stream Google+ photos and videos.

The update also fixes excessive refresh on Google+ and DLNA, which is a very welcomed improvement.

This app just keeps getting better. Those who haven’t tested AllCast and have a Chromecast should at least give it a try. You can download the app from the Google Play Store. It’s free to try, but it does come with some limitations. Check it out, test it and find out how you like it! You can then buy the Premium version for $4.99, if it convinces you.
