It seems rather unfair that Chromebook users have to pay at least $1299 to experience a touchscreen Chromebook, right? The wait for an affordable touchscreen Chrome OS device has been long, but now we call all put our hands all over the new Acer C720P. Acer’s new laptop is the first to offer a touchscreen Chromebook at the lower price we are used to with Google’s laptops, costing only $299.
That is a whole $1000 less than the Chroembook Pixel! Granted, this happens to be the same exact laptop we have seen from Acer before, save for the touchscreen part. Acer recently announced the C720-2848, which costs only $199. If you want to spend $100 for having touch capabilities and a few other upgrades, the C720P is the best option.

It’s amazing to see the Acer C720P keeps the 7.5 hours of battery life while powering a full-featured touchscreen. Haswell processors have been doing wonders for laptop battery life. It’s also nice to get the bump in internal storage, getting 32 GB over 16 GB.
I, for one, am glad to see Acer making the first move in the touchscreen Chroembook department. The Chromebook Pixel is way to expensive for being a Chromebook. It’s an awesome laptop, but at that price users tend to prefer purchasing a full-featured, non-cloud-based computer.
Other details will be soon to come, as the laptop is set for release early December. So, probably within a week or two. As mentioned above, the C720P will cost you $299, but Acer mentions there will be different configurations. This means other versions will probably cost a bit more.
