Bethesda has revealed a ton of new information about Doom, and we’ve also got 15 minutes of brand new gameplay of Doom running on the Switch.
720p and 30 fps
It’s confirmed that Doom on Switch will run at 720p both docked and undocked, and it will be limited to 30 frames per second. The other console versions ran at 1080p and 60 frames per second. Bethesda wanted to have high quality visuals instead of faster frame rate for the Switch version.
No difference between docked and handheld modes
Doom on the Switch will be the same whether you’re playing in docked or portable mode — the game will look the same and run at the same resolution and frame rate.
Doom fits into a 16 GB cartridge, needs 9 GB download
Bethesda also confirmed that the entire game won’t be able to fit on a 16 GB Switch cartridge. Instead, only the singleplayer portion will be on the cartridge. The multiplayer will have to be downloaded, which will be a 9 GB download.
And as we reported a few days ago, Doom is rumored to be released on December 13 on the Switch.
