DotEmu has announced that Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap will be released on April 18th for Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. The PC release will follow a few weeks later.
What’s interesting about the game is that it’s a remake of the original Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap that was released for the Sega Master System in 1989. In fact, all of the original passcodes for the Sega Master System version will work with this new version coming in April.
If you’re curious about the game, be sure to check out the trailer above. It’s best described as a 2D side-scroller and the player can assume several different forms based on animals. The original developer LizardCube has spent 10 years working on this remake, so it should make for an interesting experience for fans of old games.
