Yoshi’s Woolly World debuts at number 3 in Japan

This week in Japan saw several new game releases, including Warner’s Batman: Arkham Knight, as well as Yoshi’s Woolly World. Neither of these new releases could dethrone Yo-kai Watch Busters, which claimed the top spot on the charts for the second week in a row.

Yoshi’s Woolly World debuted in the third spot and managed to move almost 32k units within its first week, but Wii U sales only saw a small bump thanks to this release. While Yoshi’s Woolly World was never expected to be a system seller, it looks like the game has had a pretty good opening week.

It’ll be interesting to see if it remains in the charts next week. Both Splatoon and Mario Kart 8 continue to chart, though Super Smash Bros. for Wii U fell off the charts this week. Here’s the full look at software and hardware this week in Japan.
