Yoshi’s Woolly World is probably the cutest yarn-based game Nintendo has made since it started with Kirby’s Epic Yarn way back in 2010, but some newly discovered unused textures in the game seem to hint that Yoshi’s Woolly World started life as an Epic Yarn lookalike.
You can see in the image above the outline of Yoshi that closely resembles the outline of Kirby that was used in Epic Yarn. Of course, now we have fully knitted and crocheted Yoshi that resembles the amiibo released alongside the game. As a comparison, here’s a finished shot from the final game:
