Earlier in the year at E3, PDP showcased several GameCube style fight pads featuring various characters from Nintendo games. The Mario, Yoshi, and Princess Peach controllers are already available and on sale, but in October PDP announced a second series of character-styled controllers featuring the color schemes of Donkey Kong, Samus, Wario, and Link.
This second set of controllers is set to go on sale next year. No specific release date has been given for these controllers, but they will be priced at a moderate $24.99. The controllers have been licensed by Nintendo to work with both the Wii and the Wii U consoles. They’re designed as a peripheral that needs to be plugged into the Wii remote, so you won’t be able to use the GameCube adapter for these. Even still, they’re compatible with everything that a Pro Controller works with, so you can use it to play virtual console games as well.
