Wii U starts shipping to customers

Wii UThe Wii U officially launches on November 18, less than 48 hours from now. And to get the Wii U in time, retailers have started to ship to Wii U to those who pre-ordered it.

Several users on our Wii U Forums are reporting that they’ve received shipping confirmations for their Wii U console.

The users pre-ordered their console (and games) from retailers such as Toys R Us, Best Buy, and GameStop, which should mean that most customers who pre-ordered at one of these outlets already have their Wii U on the way.

Wii U pre-orders were sold out within a week when they went live in September, and have been sold out ever since. Nintendo recently said that they have more Wii U inventory than they did for the original Wii, which is a good sign. The original Wii was sold out for over a year almost everywhere after it launched. We recently reported that the Wii U was pre-ordered more than the original Wii.

The Wii U launches on November 18 with a $299 and $349 price tag.
