Super Mario 3D World, Wii U, and 3DS sales climb in Japan

The Wii U and 3DS sold well for Nintendo this week in Japan, according to the latest Media Create Sales report. Over 130,000 3DS XL systems were sold, up 41 percent from last week. Meanwhile, almost 75,000 Wii U consoles were sold, a near 53 percent increase in sales compared to last week.

On the software side, 3DS title Puzzle & Dragons Z led the charts with over 543,000 games sold. Pokemon X and Y took the second spot with nearly 160,000 units. The long tail sales of Super Mario 3D World continue to rise, moving nearly 58,000 units and taking the third spot in the software charts this week. Overall, one Wii U and six 3DS games placed in the top 10 software sales.
