In case you are not aware of it: the Wii U officially launches tonight, less than 12 hours from now on the West Coast, and less than 9 hours on the East Coast. Nintendo will have a midnight launch event at its World Store in New York, and several retailers such as Walmart and GameStop are rumored to have midnight launches as well.
There have been rumors of GameStop canceling all midnight launches, but according to latest reports, a lot of stores across North America will be open tonight to ring in the launch of the Wii U. It’s best to check with you local GameStop to see if they’ll be open tonight.
It’s looking better when it comes to Best Buy, as they’ll have many stores open on midnight. You can find a full list of stores that will be open tonight on their page here. The first 50 people in line at Best Buy tonight will receive special Wii U bags with Nintendo goodies.
After many months of waiting, the time has finally come: Nintendo’s new console is here. When you get your new Wii U, stop by our Wii U forums and tell us what you think of it.
