The Wii U supports full game downloads — anything from retail games to indie titles can be downloaded on the Wii U eShop. Obviously, full retail games will take up a lot more space than indie titles. Remember, the Wii U Basic set only has about 3 GB left for game downloads, while the Deluxe version has 25 GB free space for games and media. You can of course store your games and downloads on external drives.
