The latest Media Create sales from Japan are in, and the Wii U experienced a nice bump in sales. The console continues to hold the second spot in hardware sales this week with nearly 50,000 systems sold in the region. This is a 20,000 unit increase from last week, which is significant compared to the modest showing over the past few weeks in Japan.

Two Wii U games placed in the top 10, in a week loaded with new releases. The long tail sales of Super Mario 3D World continue to rise, with Nintendo’s popular plumber moving 44,000 units this week. Dragon Quest X: The Sleeping Hero and the Guiding Sworn Friend Online debuted at the number six spot with over 70,000 units sold. Not completely an afterthought, the Wii version of the game took the second spot with over 117,000 units sold.
