Ubisoft’s online store lists Watch Dogs for Wii U as Fall 2014

The saga of Watch Dogs on the Wii U has been a long one, with some interviews from the developer hinting that the game may have been pushed back to 2015. While this left many people worried that the game wouldn’t be seen on Nintendo’s console until more than a year after the release of the other consoles and PC, it looks like Ubisoft is still targeting a Fall 2014 release date for the title.

Ubisoft originally pushed back the Wii U version earlier this year, stating it wanted to give its Budapest studio enough time with the title to perfect the GamePad integration. The game will be launching on May 27 for Xbox 360/One, PlayStation 3/4, and PC. Since that announcement we’ve seen numerous interviews and statements from Ubisoft that the Wii U version of the game will be worth the wait.

Will you be picking up this game if it happens to release this fall? That puts it close to Super Smash Bros. territory and we still don’t know what other games will be available this fall, which is typically a pretty busy season when it comes to gaming. It’s likely the Wii U version of Watch Dogs may not even perform that well with a release date so far removed from the other consoles and PC. What do you think?
