Despite setbacks this year that led to a restructuring of the company, Two Tribes announced in July that it was working on a game called RIVE. The announcement trailer revealed it to be a cross between a 2D shooter and a platformer, with pretty nice looking visuals. Today during EGX, Two Tribes announced that the game will be heading to Wii U, PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
The interesting bit about this announcement is that Two Tribes confirmed only the PC and the Wii U versions would be handled in-house, with a porting partner developing for the PS4 and the Xbox One. Two Tribes was an early supporter of the Wii U with Toki Tori 2 and has even brought most of its classic games to the platform, so it’s nice to see them continuing to support the Wii U even after financial difficulties.
