Trine 2’s Magic Mayhem mode is ‘not a likelihood’

Frozenbyte have been great about creating content for Trine 2 that is exclusive to the Wii U, but the Magic Mayhem DLC that was rumored for the console is “still a possibility, but not a likelihood” according to the developers. The idea behind Magic Mayhem DLC is a series of mini-games that can be played on the Wii U gamepad. As for the reason why this wasn’t included in the original Director’s Cut release; it came down to time.

“The idea was to have small mini games that would really make use of the Wii U Gamepad. In the end we had a lot of work with bringing the DLC up to the level of quality that we intended, so scrapping the Magic Mayhem for the launch window made sense.”

Despite the fact that DLC won’t be included for Trine 2, the developer did say that Trine 3 is a “no brainer”. Frozenbyte will also move on to new IPs, so expect to see something new from the developer this year. Are you excited about what the future holds from Frozenbyte?
