Recent reports on the internet are surfacing that say Toys R Us has been cancelling legitimate pre-orders for amiibo, including its exclusive Lucario figure. There’s no announcement as to why this is happening, but several members of the NeoGAF forum have reported receiving the following email:
Thank you for shopping at Toysrus.com and Babiesrus.com.
Unfortunately, we were unable to fulfill your order number ########. As a result, your order has been cancelled.
Here is a summary of your cancelled order:

Currently the purge seems to be happening on ALL Toys R Us pre-orders for things that are not currently available in any store. This includes unreleased amiibo like Pit, Lucario, Captain Falcon and the entirety of Wave 3, which won’t be released until February 2015. The pre-orders page has been re-opened, but limited quantities are enforced now, likely to prevent scalpers from buying up tons of stock.
If you had a Lucario pre-order at Toys R Us, you might want to check your email because it’s very likely it’s been cancelled and you’ll need to pre-order when those open back up.
