One of the most anticipated Wii U indie games, Two Tribe’s Toki Tori 2, has been delayed from its original December 20 release date until early 2013. The developer says the delay is due to the fact that the game “just isn’t good enough to be released yet”. Therefore, they’re taking some extra time to polish it and “fix the game’s current weak spots”, as developer puts it in a blog post.
Two Tribes said that Toki Tori 2 is a “personal project”, adding that “it’s something we’re putting a lot of love in”. They also gave some specifics as to why the game was delayed, saying they will spend the extra time to “fix the game’s current weak spots, in all categories ranging from gameplay to graphics to technology”.
As Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto once said, “a delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever”.
