Thank God: the SNES Classic controller has a longer cable than the NES Classic

One of the bad things about the NES Classic, maybe the only bad thing (except the shortages), is that the cables for the controllers were incredibly short.

The cables for NES Classic were just 3 feet, or barely a meter in length. Which means you had to sit right up to the TV in order to play.

Nintendo (somewhat) fixes this with the SNES Classic: the controller cables are 5 feet long, about 2 feet longer than the NES Classic.

The SNES Classic will ship with two controllers and will include 21 games (although five of those will be different in Japan).

It launches in September and will retail for $80 – $20 more than the NES Classic. You can check out the full list of SNES Classic games.
