The Nintendo Switch was the best selling console in Japan last month, selling 168,810 units, well ahead of the number two console on the list, the PS4 with 114,630 units sold in September.
But that’s nothing compared to August, where the Switch sold 254,289 units in Japan, one of its best months there. The decrease in sales is likely due to Nintendo diverting some of the Japanese supply to other territories.
As for games, the best selling Switch game in Japan in September was Splatoon 2, which sold 138,694 copies, good enough for a second overall place.
The Switch has been selling well in Japan, and has been the sales leader pretty much every month since it was released back in March.
