Switch stays no. 1 in Japan, Mario Odyssey beaten by Call of Duty

The weekly sales numbers are out in Japan, and they showed that the Switch stayed comfortably ahead of all other consoles, selling three times as many units as the number two console (PS4).

However, on the games front, Super Mario Odyssey was knocked off the top spot by the just-released Call of Duty World War 2. The game sold 168,000 units compared to Mario Odyssey’s 116,000.

Which isn’t a big deal because everyone who wanted Mario Odyssey has gotten it by now — the game has sold over 570,000 units in Japan in less than two weeks and sold 90% of its initial shipment.
