The Nintendo Switch is now officially the fastest selling console in history in the US. Nintendo has revealed that the Switch has sold an impressive 4.8 million units since launching in March 2017.
That makes it the fastest selling home console ever in the US, surpassing the Wii.
By comparison, the Wii sold 4 million units during its first 10 months on the market.
Worldwide, the Switch has sold over 10 million units. Nintendo has also seen success on the games front: three first party games have sold over 5 million copies: Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Super Mario Odyssey.
Last week Nintendo said that they want to sell 20 million Switch consoles in year two.
