The Super Mario Odyssey reviews are in and the conclusion is clear: it’s one of the best reviewed games of all time. In fact, review tracker GameRankings has Mario Odyssey as the best rated game of all time now.
The other review aggregator, MetaCritic, has the game as the 7th best reviewed game of all time with a MetaCritic score of 97. It’s tied as the highest rated Switch game with Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which also has a 97 rating.
The game has received numerous perfect scores — IGN, GameSpot, EDGE, Giant Bomb all gave the game a perfect score, with IGN calling it a “generational masterpiece”.
