We already know that Super Mario Maker has gone to the top of the sales charts in Japan, helping double the sales of the Wii U console. Now Japanese sales tracker Media Create has revealed a more detailed sales date, which shows that Super Mario Maker has sold 150,000 units during its first week on sale in Japan, which includes some 12,000 Wii U bundles of the game as well.

Super Mario Maker sold 56 percent of its shipment, which means that Nintendo did a pretty good job at estimating sales of the game — there’s plenty of demand, and there is plenty of stock to meet the demand.

There are two Super Mario Maker Wii U bundles in Japan, and together they sold 12,000 units last week, helping more than double sales of the Wii U console. Nintendo had one other Wii U game in the top 10 best sellers list: Splatoon with 17,000 units sold.

By all accounts, it looks like Super Mario Maker is another hit from Nintendo. We’ll have to wait and see if the game does equally well in North America and Europe.
