Super Mario Maker does not support YouTube uploading

Nintendo’s newest Mario game for the Wii U, Super Mario Maker, will not support YouTube uploading like some other Wii U titles. YouTube uploading was one of the most used features in Mario Kart 8, and was so popular that Nintendo will be adding the feature to Super Smash Bros in the future.

However, the upcoming Mario creator game Super Mario Maker will not have a YouTube sharing option. That’s according to producer Takashi Tezuka, who says that Nintendo would rather have players “play the levels and experience them in that way”. He told GameInformer:

We thought about having YouTube uploading, but it’s not in our game. The reason for that is other than just watching movies of courses, we’d rather players play them and experience them in that way.

Super Mario Maker seems like such an obvious game to get YouTube uploading, where players can share their creations. In fact, it seems like the most perfect game to get a video sharing option.

It’s clear that Nintendo is missing out here, and we’re pretty sure that YouTube will be added in the future. After all, what’s the point of creating an elaborate level in Mario Maker if you can’t show it to the world?

Super Mario Maker launches on the Wii U on September 11, 2015. And you should definitely get the physical copy of the game.
